Patrushev: The US is interested in the fact that Russia did not exist – Radio Liberty

Secretary of the Russian Security Council refers to a non-existent quote Madeleine Albright

Nikolai Patrushev

The United States is interested in the fact “that Russia as a country did not exist “said Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev. It is an opinion he expressed in an interview with “Kommersant”.

Patrushev again accused the United States that they have contributed to dismissal from the government of Viktor Yanukovich in Ukraine, saying that for this purpose, Washington has allocated $ 5 billion. This Patrushev named the change of power in Ukraine is not the main purpose of the United States, but a means of pressure on Russia.

According to Patrushev, the United States is seeking to destroy Russia, because it “unfairly has enormous wealth.” As proof of its allegations the Secretary of the Security Council referred to former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who allegedly claimed that Russia “does not belong to the Far East or Siberia”.

The authenticity of the above Patrushev “quote” has been questioned many commentators. In particular, the chief editor of “Echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov called it the primary source interviews former general FSO Boris Ratnikova “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” published in 2006, who claimed that his subordinates had a “thought scanning” Albright.

In an interview with “Kommersant” Nikolai Patrushev also said that on the side of a terrorist organization “Islamic State” is now fighting more than 1,000 Russian citizens. According to Patrushev, the government can not stop the flow of “volunteers”, traveling to fight in Syria and Iraq, and to the east of Ukraine.
