Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the new EU sanctions are illegal.

“We regret the decision to impose new sanctions by the EU. repeatedly expressed their disagreement and misunderstanding about the sanctions that were taken before, and thought and consider them illegal,” – the source was quoted as saying.

According to Dmitry Peskov, the adoption of the next, third, round of sanctions “is absolutely beyond comprehension,” especially in light of Russia’s efforts for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine.

“Despite the lack of constructivism in the position of Brussels, Russia will continue to do its utmost in order to facilitate the implementation of the existing peace plan, as well as the stabilization of the situation in the south-east of Ukraine as a whole”, – concluded the press Secretary of the Russian president.
