EU imposes sanctions on three energy and nine Russian defense companies – BBC

The European Union imposed sanctions against three major Russian energy companies. This is stated in document , published on the website of the European Council.

In particular, prohibits lending to companies, providing them with financial services (such as brokerage) services required for deep-sea oil exploration in the Arctic, for drilling, as well as for the production of shale oil, and fall under the prohibition of logging services.

In addition to the sanctions list will include nine Russian defense enterprises that export dual-use goods and military technology. And access to capital will be limited to three defensive and three utilities.

According to the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, in the EU sanctions list will include three oil companies – “Gazprom Neft”, “Transneft” and “Rosneft”.

Earlier, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy said , the EU will reduce the maximum period of circulation of securities of five Russian state banks up to 30 days.
