Media: Putin approved a change in the electoral law – REGNUM

Moscow, January 23, 2016, 10:19 – REGNUM Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the proposal to change the electoral law and approved the limited number of observers from the party or candidate to two people. On this day, January 23, writes “Kommersant”, citing a source in the presidential administration and the Central Election Commission.

The publication argues that Putin has already signed the relevant documents. On this basis will prepare amendments to the federal laws relating to the elections – “On guarantees of electoral rights …” and “On elections of deputies of the State Duma.” It is noted that the changes scheduled to take place before the elections to the State Duma in September this year.

According to sources, the amendments should streamline work with the observers. Parties and candidates will have three days before the vote to pass the election commissions about observers who will work on sites. Now such a provision in the electoral law does not and the number of public observers is not limited.

The changes are designed to prevent cases when the commission kicked observers, citing the fact that the section of their already quite a lot.

It is also planned to extend the norm of the possibility of removal of observers from the site only in the courts of all levels of elections. Another amendment relates to the rights of observers at the photo and video at the polling station – it will be enshrined in the law.
