Putin in Ufa will summarize the work of the SCO and BRICS summits – RIA Novosti

UVA, Jul 10 – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend a meeting of heads of SCO member states, will hold a series of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts and announce the results of the summit in Ufa.

Ufa 8-10 July adopts international summits of SCO and BRICS. This year, Russia presides in both these organizations. Putin has already met with the Chinese President, the Prime Minister of India, heads of South Africa, Belarus, Tajikistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Brazil, and also took part in a trilateral meeting with the leaders of China and Mongolia. As previously told reporters Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, on Friday, Putin’s schedule will begin with a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

Then Putin will greet all Heads of State -uchastnits SCO, after which will be the traditional meeting – in the narrow and expanded formats, and the signing of joint documents.

Ushakov said that the SCO summit will adopt 14 decisions: 11 subscription and two decisions – no subscription. The main document – a declaration of Ufa, the decision on approving the SCO development strategy until 2025, two decisions to initiate the procedure admission of India and Pakistan.

The SCO includes Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It has observer status, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan. In September last year, Pakistan and India have formally applied for membership in the organization. Previously in charge of foreign policy of the Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told the media that the accession of India and Pakistan to the SCO will take time, their membership will be finalized at the summit in India.
