MOSCOW, 24 Nov – RIA Novosti. the Russian Academy of Sciences excluded the possibility of an exit of officials from the Academy, since the membership is lifetime. The organization said that every contender for the “academic” place took the decision to participate in the elections independently.

the Main scientific Secretary of RAS Presidium Mikhail Paltsev said that every official personally took the decision to participate in the elections. However, he acknowledged that the Academy knew about the recommendation of Putin.

“We took them by scientific criteria. All who participated in the elections complied with these requirements,” said Fingers.

According to the procedure, each applicant needs six times to speak to the academics, after each speech, the current members of the Academy hold a vote on nominees.

RAS is the largest of the state Academy of Sciences in Russia, now it has 944 academician, they are elected for life.
