The head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Ivanov said that the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War Russia will be more ambitious than the celebration in 2005.
“I remember 10 years ago when I served as Minister of Defense, the celebration of Victory Day was also an important event – when we celebrated the 60th anniversary. This year’s festivities will be an even grander scale. Military parades take place in 150 cities, not only in Russia but also abroad, “- said in an interview RT Ivanov, head of the organizing committee on preparation for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Victory.
The military parade in Moscow will start 9 On May 10 in the morning, it will feature more than 15 thousand people. Also, according to Ivanov, the Russian troops will take part in the parade in Bishkek, Minsk, Yerevan and Tskhinvali.
Sergei Ivanov said that Moscow parade will feature not previously demonstrated samples of weapons and military equipment including missile complex RS-24 “yars”.
Meanwhile, many world leaders have refused a visit to Moscow for the celebrations on May 9, citing disagreement with the role played by Russia in the Ukrainian conflict.
