NEW YORK, May 4. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon confirmed his intention to visit Moscow to attend the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He also plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the official said Secretary General Stephan Dyuzharrik.
On the way to the Russian capital, Ban Ki-moon will make a stop in Poland and Ukraine, reports Tass.
At the end of April, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Moscow expects the arrival of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on May 9 parade. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin criticized UN Secretary-General plans to visit Moscow.
The visit to Moscow for the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II confirmed the leaders of over 25 countries, in particular, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Cyprus and the Czech Republic.
