In St. Petersburg today is traditionally held the Day of Dostoevsky. As the press service of the Committee for Culture of the city, this year’s festival was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the novel “Crime and Punishment”.

At noon, in the Necropolis of Artists Alexander Nevsky Monastery of the writer’s fans laid flowers on his grave and lit candles.

At 13 o’clock on a Manezhnaya Square demonstrated adaptation of “Crime and Punishment”.

At the same time near the monument to Vladimir area Dostoevsky Literary flash mob took place, and on the Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Konyushennaya Street Manezh Square came contemporary writers and people dressed in costumes of literary heroes Dostoevsky.

In the evening on the same Manezh Square MDF Theatre staged “In early July, an exceptionally hot …”. It was attended by leading artists of St. Petersburg and the band Billy’s Band.

Day of memory of the great writer held in St. Petersburg in 2010, on the first Saturday in July.
