Prosecutor General’s Office was rated the most corrupt regions – BBC News

Prosecutor General of Russia prepared a report “On the outcome of the prosecution in the first half of 2016 and objectives for improving the efficiency of the prosecutor’s activity in the second half of 2016″, it called the most corrupt regions of the country.

According to the newspaper “News” on Wednesday, referring to the available document, the report summarizes information on the number of reported crimes in the six months of this year and demonstrates the dynamics of growth or decline particular types of crimes compared to the same period last year. As noted in the prosecutor’s office, the document in the near future will present leadership of the country.

So, according to statistics, the record for the number of registered crimes related to corruption is the Kursk region. This year, the region showed dynamo of growth in 189% (257 crimes) compared to the same period in 2015 (89 offenses).

Republic of Udmurtia ranks second. Here, an increase of over 113% – 79 recorded crimes against 37 last year

 Closes the three leaders of the Astrakhan region with 74 corruption crimes in 2016 against 36 last year, an increase of 105%.

The prosecutor’s report also provides a ranking of regions where fixed reduction in the number of corruption offenses. In this area, the three leaders begins with the Kamchatka Krai. Here reduction of crimes recorded at the level of 80% – (24 offenses in 2015 to five in 2016). Arkhangelsk Oblast – in second place (down by 62%; 117 – in 2015 and 44 – in 2016). Closes the three leaders of the Smolensk region (minus 50% – 71 crimes in 2015 and 35 in 2016)

According to the document, in the whole country recorded more than 21 thousand corruption crimes.. Compared with 2015, this figure increased by 2%.

According to the official representative of the Russian Federation Prosecutor General Alexander smoking, since 2011 the agency has the right to a single state statistical accounting statements and reports of crimes, as well as on the state of crime .
