Moscow. September 23. INTERFAX.RU – Firefighters fought a fire at a warehouse in the East of Moscow, died heroically, preventing the spread of fire over a larger area, reported “Interfax” on Friday a former chief of garrison of fire protection of Moscow Victor Klimkin.

“In the building the fire spread rapidly, mainly due to the high combustion temperature of polymers. Firefighters working on the roof of the warehouse and prevented the fire from spreading to the whole storage area – 16 thousand square meters”, – said Klimkin.

According to him, firefighters on the roof of the building was installed a water curtain to cool the gas cylinders. “As a result of the powerful influence of the flame of reinforced concrete floors, could not withstand the temperature and collapsed,” – said Klimkin.

He stressed that the fire rapidly spread on the stock.

“There is stored the plastic products, which in fire and the interaction with oxygen gave a powerful flaming combustion with high temperature. The burning was inside the warehouse in a confined space, so the area increased immediately, especially after the collapse of the roof and the sudden influx of oxygen which contributed to this”, he explained.

the Fire originated in a warehouse in the East of Moscow the night before at the address: Amurskaya street, house 1, building 9, where, according to preliminary information, was stored the plastic products. It covered an area of 4 thousand square meters, the building roof collapsed on the area of 1,5 thousand square meters. The fire was assigned 4th grade of difficulty.

the Fire allegedly claimed the lives of eight of the rescuers, a criminal case, said the representative of the Moscow dome RCDS Julia Ivanova. She noted that upon a fire in a warehouse in the Amur street criminal case as regards 3 articles 219 of the criminal code (violation of fire safety requirements).

“the Investigation is considering different versions of fire, among which domestic, technical and other”, – said the representative of the investigation.

Friday morning, the fire was extinguished, the bodies of eight firefighters.
