The media learned about the failure of the Kremlin to hold early elections after the victory trump – RBC

the Kremlin has rejected the idea to hold early presidential elections after the election of the President of the United States Donald trump, reports “Rain” with reference to the sources.

According to the TV channel, the presidential administration discussed the plan to hold elections a year earlier than expiry of the term of the current President Vladimir Putin — in the spring of 2017. According to interlocutors of “Rain”, the scenario of early elections would be relevant in case of a victory to Hillary Clinton, who sharply criticized the Russian authorities and could try to undermine the situation in Russia before elections. In addition, the Kremlin considered the economic argument: because of the deteriorating economic situation, Putin’s rating may be reduced. According to a senior Federal official in the Kremlin do not see preconditions for radical reduction of the rating of the President.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov told the TV channel that plans to hold presidential elections ahead of schedule.

“Such plans [for early elections] never happened. Not to give up anything,” said he.

Earlier, the representative of the Kremlin has denied the information on possible early elections. The corresponding question of journalists, Peskov, last week, 7 November, said: “This is an absolute, so to say, scholasticism. Such question on the agenda is not as such, there is the usual work, quite tense”.
