The head of the presidential administration Sergei Ivanov accused the Western media of discrediting opponents – Ekho Moskvy radio station

According to him, the negative trend he saw in the last two years and especially in the American and British newspapers. Some papers claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his entourage allegedly corrupt to the extreme, hide their fortunes, slipping even accusations of links with the underworld. “As a rule, they say that Putin’s inner circle are natives of St. Petersburg; some of them – came from the KGB, and all of them, of course, closely associated with Putin “- said the head of the presidential administration in an interview with Russia Today.
He suggested the media that have any charge against him, their voice and call, what exactly is it corruption, where his huge profits and at home in the US or the UK.
Ivanov outlined a number of people close to the president, for whom he can personally vouch for. Among them he named foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, the Presidential Adviser on National Security Nikolai Patrushev.
According to Ivanov, he was convinced that all the defamatory statements are pursuing the same goal: impress the Russians that the Russian ruling circles wrong. However, he expressed confidence that “this plan does not work».
