New optional school course “Orthodox culture” is taught today in continuation of the fourth classes of the subject “fundamentals of Orthodox culture” (OPK), he has already received the approval of the representatives of all traditional religions of Russia, told RIA Novosti one of the developers of the program, head of the sector of the defence industry of the Synodal Department for religious education and catechism of deacon Herman Demidov.
In the Russian Academy of education earlier on Tuesday told RIA Novosti that the Federal educational-methodical Association on General education (FUMO) received a draft program of the course “fundamentals of Orthodox culture”, which, as noted in the Academy “is optional and refers to the number of courses selected by participants in the educational process.”
According to Demidov, the Federal educational standard there is the subject area “Bases spiritually-moral culture of the peoples of Russia”, which is not “prescribed content”.
“For this subject area is assumed, according to the documents of the Ministry of education, is a logical continuation of the course ORKSE (Basics of religious cultures and secular ethics — ed.). That is, the breakdown of the same modules on traditional religious cultures, at the option of pupils or their legal representatives,” — said Demidov.
In the mandatory curriculum module DIC now present as one of the modules of the course ORKSE, is designed for students in fourth grade. Part of the course consists of six modules: the basics of secular ethics, foundations of Orthodox culture, basics of Islamic culture, basics of Buddhist culture, basics of Judaic culture, basics of world religious cultures.
As told Demidov, a new program for Orthodox culture was prepared in FUMO, which includes representatives of all traditional religions of the Russian Federation. “When we were preparing this program, previously before her to announce that she was sent to representatives of all traditional religious organizations, and Buddhists, and representatives of Islam, Judaism. This program was thoroughly discussed, criticized, complimented, and, in principle, as far as I could understand from our colleagues – they are all interested in the subjects and the modules associated with the study of traditional religious cultures, was well developed and presented in the educational space”, — said Demidov.
According to him, is, in particular, in order to “not have any substitutes that periodically that one or the other side are brought into the educational environment under the guise of religious cultural or some sort of spiritually-moral education”.
“This is an exemplary educational program for each of the classes spelled out a model of learning content. It is a kind of alternative, and possible alternatives, I think, is the real freedom. About any imposition of any resolutions and directives of the question”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
