Garrison military court in the capital decided to arrest till 23 Jan General FSO of Russia Gennady Lopyreva. High “chin” was detained on suspicion in receiving a large bribe. The court session was closed to the press.
the Judge satisfied the petition of protection of the head of the North Caucasus Directorate of the Federal security service, who asked about house arrest. Lopyreva lawyers intend to appeal against his arrest on Monday, reports “Interfax”.
According to investigators, the General is suspected of receiving bribes in especially large amount (part 6, item 290 of the criminal code) from “leaders of a number of commercial structures for the overall protection in the conclusion and execution of public contracts for the repair and construction works”. Article provides imprisonment for the term up to 15 years.
Criminal proceedings were instituted the Main Department on investigation of especially important cases of the RCDS according to the materials of the FSO in conjunction with the operational services of the FSB. The General himself doesn’t admit guilt.
