FSO confirmed the detention in Sochi of the head of Department of protection in the Caucasus – RBC

the Lieutenant-General of the Federal security service of Russia Gennady Lopyrev detained on the results of internal audit. This is stated in the official press release FSO

“In the course of internal audit, the FSO carried out in the units of the security Service in the Caucasus, showed signs of serious violations of the law. The audit materials submitted to the investigating authorities. Currently, General G. A. Lopyrev detained. Are necessary investigative actions”, – stated in the message of the Federal security service.

Lopyrev was detained on Thursday, November 24, told RBC a source familiar with the investigation.

Recall, 25 November, “Izvestiya” reported about the detention in Sochi of Lieutenant-General of the Federal security service (FSS) Gennady Lopyreva. According to the publication, in his apartment was found cash in the amount of 1 billion rubles.

According to “Izvestia”, Lopyrev was detained within the investigation associated with the distribution of land plots for construction of Olympic facilities. In this case also held a number of senior officials from the administration and law enforcement agencies of Sochi. Also the sources claimed that the witness in this case is the head of the resort city Anatoly Pakhomov.
