Russian Deputy Foreign Minister talked about the differences with the West on Iran – RBC

Russia’s position on the abolition of the arms embargo against Iran at odds with the position taken by its partners in the “six” negotiators (except for Russia, it includes the United States, France, Germany, the UK and China). Told reporters on Thursday, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov, according to RIA Novosti.

«On the arms embargo, our positions are still far apart, until we found a common denominator in this matter, Regrettably, “- Ryabkov said.

Another round of negotiations on a comprehensive agreement on guarantees of the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of international sanctions against Iran, began in Vienna on May 12 at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran and the European Union, Abbas and Helga Schmid Arakhchi. On Friday, May 15, to be held a meeting of political directors – deputy foreign ministers of the “six” and Iran. Negotiators are based on the fact that the agreement should be worked out by June 30.

May 12 US Secretary of State John Kerry held talks in Sochi with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to presidential aide Yury Ushakov, during the meeting the sides exchanged views on all key issues on the global agenda – the Middle East, Iran, Syria, “the Islamic state”.
