Povetkin’s promoter told about the number meldonium in doping sample boxer – NTV.ru

As head of the company “The World Boxing” Andrew Ryabinsky, a team of Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin is considering an option of opening the sample “B” after the discovery of the body athlete meldonium, TASS.

Earlier it was reported that the doping sample Povetkin to fight with the champion the world by the WBC American Deonteem Wilder was found meldonium. Ryabinsky also on his page on Twitter reported that the banned since 1 January 2016 of the drug in the sample was found only 70 nanograms (0.07 micrograms).

Ryabinsky also stressed that Povetkin took meldonium September 2015 when this drug was not banned by WADA.

Will there be a May 21 title fight Povetkin with American Deonteem Wilder for the title of world champion in the WBC is still unknown.

Recall loud doping scandal erupted after the ban meldonium from 1 January. From training and competition removed many famous Russian athletes. In April, the World Anti-Doping Agency decided that the content of less than one microgram meldonium in doping sample athlete donated before March 1, 2016, is valid. After that, almost all Russian athletes disqualified were amnestied.
