Putin signed a law on deprivation of deputies mandates for absenteeism – RBC

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the deprivation of deputy mandates for absenteeism. The corresponding document was published on the website of legal information.

The decree states that the powers of parliament may be terminated at the initiative of the fraction in which it is, or at the initiative of the committee, of which he is, in the event of default by him in for 30 or more calendar days of its duties.

according to the document materials about the deprivation of the mandate will be sent to the Duma commission on ethics, and she will decide whether there are grounds for the punishment of the deputy. The commission shall issue to the entire Duma.

The initiative is still in 2015 made by the deputies of the “Fair Russia” headed by party leader Sergei Mironov. Initially, the relevant committee of the State Duma opposed the bill, saying that it does not comply with Russian legislation.

However, in March 2016 the bill was approved by profile committee and passed by the Duma in the first reading.
