MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Deputy Minister of culture of Russia Grigory Pirumov pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement in the restoration of objects of cultural heritage. About it in Moscow city court said the investigator in the course of consideration of an appeal against the extension of the official period of detention.
“the criminal case materials there is evidence proving the guilt of Grigory Pirumov. In particular, there is his confession about what he did to them crimes,” said the investigator.
the Prosecutor asked the court to attach to the materials a copy of the supplemental interrogation of the accused on 19 October, where, according to her, there is evidence that “Pirumov admits his guilt in the presence of the incriminated acts.”
In turn, the protection Pirumov refutes the position of the investigation, insisting that without determining the level of damage it is impossible to speak about any admission of guilt. According to the lawyer of the official Fedor Kupriyanov said his client intends to continue to give extensive testimony, but did not plead guilty.

“having Considered the arguments of the appeal complaint, the judicial Board of Moscow city court found no grounds for its satisfaction,” – said the representative of the court. Thus, Pirumov will remain in jail until December 15.

Sanctions article provide till 10 years of imprisonment.
On similar charges, was also arrested the head of the Directorate on construction, reconstruction and restoration of the Ministry of culture Boris Tsagaraev and project Manager of OOO “Stroykomplekt” company “Baltstroy” Mr Swanbeck.
Earlier it was reported that several defendants in the case pleaded guilty.
According to investigators, in 2012, Pirumov with the purpose of stealing money has created a criminal group. The participants signed contracts for the execution of restoration works with false information and inflated service costs. In fact, there are six episodes: the theft of funds allocated for execution of restoration works of the ensemble of the Novodevichy convent, of the drama theatre in Pskov, St. John the Baptist monastery, the Museum of cosmonautics in Kaluga, Izborsk castle and manor Aseeva in Tambov.
the investigators believe that the defendants appropriated not less than 50 million of the 127 million rubles allocated for the restoration of the ensemble of the Novodevichy convent.
