The Kremlin has promised an adequate response to the introduction Washington’s new sanctions – TASS

MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/. Russia will give an adequate response to new U.S. sanctions, which are a manifestation of the unpredictable aggression of the outgoing White house administration. The Kremlin also hopes that after the change of power in Washington, “crooked steps” of the Cabinet of Barack Obama will be corrected and the two countries will be able to reach a normalization of relations.

this was stated to journalists the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the introduction Washington’s new sanctions over alleged Moscow involvement in the hacker attack on the United States.

the Unpredictability and aggressiveness of the White house

“From our point of view such actions (the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions) of Washington, the current administration of Washington are a manifestation, unfortunately, unpredictable, and one might even say aggressive foreign policy,” – said Peskov. In his view, therefore USA damage Russian-American relations. “Moreover causes just the deepest confusion is the fact that about such a devastating, destructive nature of bilateral relations makes the decision the administration (the White house), which is already about to leave. It definitely looks like a completely unpredictable aggression”, said the representative of the Kremlin.

According to Peskov, this is the same aggression, which earlier, at a press conference on 23 December, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. “He, however, didn’t rank the United States among these potential aggressors, from his mouth, this country was not named, but now we see concrete manifestations”, – said the press Secretary of the Russian leader.

Peskov said that the American side had not made contact with Moscow before the introduction of new sanctions. He recalled that this decision was preceded by “very aggressive statements” accusations of Russia in the hacker attacks on the United States. “This is probably the current stage of international relations it is sufficient for its aggressiveness, was the unprecedented statement,” – said the representative of the Kremlin.

Responding to a question about whether he intended the Russian leader to initiate a conversation with the American President Barack Obama, Peskov said that he doesn’t know that. “I don’t think you need in a hurry and I don’t think the President of Russia is somehow in a hurry,” said the spokesman.

“Like I said before, we believe such decisions, such sanctions are unjustified and illegal from the point of view of international law,” continued Sands. He said: “We strongly disagree with any of the baseless claims, accusations that have been voiced by the Russian side.”

Peskov commented on the statement of U.S. President Barack Obama and the US state Department, as well as materials published by the American party on new sanctions against Russia. “We regret that this decision was taken by the US administration and President Obama,” – said Peskov. According to him, the Kremlin is now studying these statements and published information. “Trying to understand the details,” he said.

Blow to trump politics

the Kremlin believes that the imposition of sanctions the Obama administration strikes at foreign policy, future US President Donald trump.

“We believe that such decisions of the current administration, which, incidentally, left to work for three weeks serve two purposes: it completely ruin the already lying on the bottom of the Russian-American relations, and, apparently, to strike at the foreign policy plans of the future administration of the elected President of the USA”, – said Peskov. He added: “However, the second point is absolutely the internal affair of the United States, and Americans need to understand ourselves, how accurate are the law.”

“the Future of the administration (the White house) and elected President (Trump) imposed on the model behavior,” – continued the representative of the Kremlin. According to Peskov, Moscow does not know whether trump on this model, as between him and Putin was not yet the substantive, serious contacts. “But we clearly see that the new administration is trying to impose a certain line, that is, to deprive the administration (trump) a certain level of capacity, and deprive her of course, which will offer to go to the new President”, – said the press Secretary of the Russian leader, again noting, however, that all this is an internal matter of the United States.

appropriate response

“While I can’t say what will be the answer (on the sanctions), though, as we know, there is absolutely no alternative, the principle of reciprocity. Of course, given an adequate response,” – said the representative of the Kremlin, stressing that this response will be formulated “in the direction of the direction to be determined by the President Putin”.

in the Kremlin in General “are not inclined to exaggerate the effectiveness” of both new and previous sanctions. “Of course, is based on the principle of reciprocity, the reaction will lead to the fact that the same will be caused considerable discomfort to the American side in these areas, – said the representative of the Kremlin. In any case, the decision in respect of such steps will be taken by the President of Russia.”

Peskov did not rule out that in making this decision, Putin will take into account that the current US administration was working only three weeks. “Of course, this factor will somehow be counted”, he said.

“given the transition period right now in Washington, we continue to expect that we will be able to get rid of such clumsy actions such clumsy steps, to behave like a bull in a China shop, and that we would succeed anyway through joint steps to move toward normalization of our bilateral relations”, – said the representative of the Kremlin.

History with diplomats

a Kremlin spokesman also expressed bewilderment in connection with statements of the President of the United States that American diplomats supposedly persecuted in Russia by law enforcement agencies. Peskov said that could give a few examples of direct pressure on the Russian diplomats working in the United States. He reminded about the case when an American diplomat tried to recruit in Moscow by phone of the employee of FSB of the Russian Federation.
