Our inquiry on the Tu-154.
This trimotored plane was designed in the Tupolev design Bureau and first flown in 1968. Serial production began in 1970, the last ship was produced in 1998. He became the most widely produced aircraft in the Soviet Union — in the history of aviation had issued 900 aircraft of this type. About 150 aircraft were produced for export, many of them continue to be operated, for example, in China, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan. In Slovakia Tu-154 is the Board number 1 and is used for the movement of top officials, including the President.
In 2002, the European Union banned the flight of Tu-154 without special upgrades because of the high noise level. In 2006 a flight in the EU was completely banned, with the exception of the version of the Tu-154M.
From the middle “zero” the Russian airlines began to withdraw the Tu-154 from service. The main reason was low fuel efficiency, making their operation more costly with rising oil prices. In 2008-2009, when the price of oil skyrocketed to nearly $ 150, and then fell to $ 35-40 per barrel, Russia’s largest carriers Aeroflot, Sibir, GTK Rossiya hastened to withdraw from the operation of Tu-154.
currently, the only commercial operator of the Tu-154 in Russia is airline ALROSA (hull number sun RA-85684).
