“the agreement is aimed at creation of favorable, transparent and stable legal and regulatory frameworks, including tax and customs regime for the design, construction and operation of the pipeline system to supply Russian gas to Turkey and transit transportation of Russian gas through her in her neighboring state. In accordance with the Federal law “On international treaties of the Russian Federation” the agreement is subject to ratification, since it sets rules other than those stipulated by Russian legislation,” – said in a statement on the website of the Russian government.

on 6 December the President of Russia Vladimir Putin thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the ratification of the agreement on the Turkish stream. Earlier in the day, Erdogan signed the law on ratification of the agreement.
October 10, representatives of Russia and in Istanbul, Turkey signed the intergovernmental agreement on the gas pipeline project “Turkish stream.” Russia and Turkey also agreed to provide a discount on gas as part of the discussion of the project “Turkish stream.”
According to the Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexei Miller, the construction of the offshore section of Turkish stream will begin in the second half of 2017. Both lines will be completed before the end of 2019.
Miller reported that the agreement provides for the construction of two gas pipeline strings under the Black sea, the capacity of each line is 15 billion 750 million cubic meters of gas. One thread is provided to supply gas directly to the Turkish market, the other for gas supplies transit through Turkey to European countries. The intergovernmental agreement also defined the term, which should be constructed are these two nautical thread, it is December 2019.
