Russian writers have asked Vladimir Putin to pardon Director Oleg Sentsov, a merchant

Russian writers appealed to Vladimir Putin asking him to pardon the Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov. The letter to the President was signed by more than 60 members of the world organization of writers (Russian PEN-centre). “We ask you, Mr. President, to apply to Oleg Sentsov norm of the law allowing the President to decide on pardon without an admission of guilt on their part, please use all available resources and mechanisms for the speedy release of our colleague Oleg Sentsov”— results “RIA Novosti” an excerpt from the letter.

Earlier, Moscow otkazali to extradite Oleg Sentsov to Ukraine. We will remind, in August 2015 Oleg Sentsov was sentenced in Russia to 20 years in prison on charges of organizing terrorist acts in the Crimea, and his alleged accomplice Alexander Kolchenko was sentenced to ten years.

In June, Vladimir Putin pardoned the convicted Ukrainians in Russia Gennady Afanasyev and Yury Soloshenko, making it possible for them to return to their homeland.
