Moscow, Tehran and Ankara have agreed to revive the political process in Syria – Opinion

In a statement following the meeting of the foreign Ministers of Russia, Iran and Turkey said about the revival of the political process to end the conflict in Syria, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

According to him, the sides confirmed the need to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. The parties also agreed on the need to resolve the conflict by political means – “there can be no military solution to the Syrian crisis.” The foreign Minister made “for uncontested political and diplomatic settlement” of the conflict in Syria, RIA “Novosti”.

Lavrov also noted that Moscow, Tehran and Ankara should help in overcoming the standstill in the political settlement of the conflict in Syria. He believes that the efforts of the three countries advanced “processes to stop the violence and the delivery of humanitarian aid”.

Noted the invitation of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on holding inter-Syrian talks in Astana. And guarantors of the agreement between the parties to the conflict may become all three countries – Russia, Iran and Turkey.
