Deputy Chairman of the Russian parliament and the deputy secretary of the General Council of the faction “United Russia” Sergei Zheleznyak said that the ban on publication of announcements of sexual services in the media takes the form of legislative initiative, which the Duma will consider this fall.

The MP regretted that « any professional ethics or industry self-regulation can not keep the media from such shameful activities ».
In order to prevent these manifestations MP proposes to amend Art. 4 of the RF Law “On mass media” and in Art. 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences (CAO). The amendments are designed to limit the abuse of freedom of mass media in terms of placement in the media advertisements for services of a sexual nature, as well as to establish responsibility for such violations.
Zhelezniak sure that his legislative initiative will make it possible to completely close a loophole for criminals engaged in organizing prostitution under the guise of ads on services including massage, sauna, clubs, dating and other similar reports in the media.
The MP said that today, many subjects of the Russian Federation, such as the Chuvash Republic, Astrakhan, Belgorod, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Tyumen Region, has consolidated responsibility for advertising for sexual services in the regional legislation. Now, in a single information and legal framework of the country, it is important to consolidate this fundamental decision at the federal level.
