Naryshkin: Seleznev contributed to the development of parliamentarism – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, July 20 – RIA Novosti. The ex-speaker of the State Duma Gennady Seleznev made a great contribution to the establishment of national parliamentary system, said Monday the chairman of the lower house of parliament, Sergei Naryshkin.

Chairman of the State Duma of the 2nd and 3rd convocations Seleznev, died Sunday evening in Moscow for the 68th year of life.

“Gennady faithfully served the motherland throughout life’s journey. He made a great contribution to the establishment of national parliamentary and modern the Russian state, as a deputy of the State Duma of the first four convocations and heading Chamber in 1996-2003. From 1992 to 2002 Seleznev was a member of the Communist Party of Russia. He also was a member of the Central Committee and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the chief editor of volunteer weekly “True Russia” – the organ of the Communist Party.
