Putin postponed the election to the State Duma in September 2016 – RBC

President Vladimir Putin signed a law to postpone the election to the State Duma in 2016. The document was published on the official web portal of legal information.

The law to postpone the parliamentary elections was passed by the State Duma on July 3 and approved by the Federation Council on July 8. According to the document instead of the December elections will be held on the third Sunday in September 2016. Deputies will have to come to the first meeting no later than the 30th day after the election.

President signed the law stipulates that the parliamentary immunity of parliamentarians who will not be re-elected to the State Duma of the seventh convocation will continue through December 4, 2016 inclusive. In addition, they are guaranteed a monthly monetary compensation, the State Insurance and preservation conditions of redress, as well as the right to use the official residential premises.
