Peskov called rumors messages about the appointment of assistant to the President – RBC

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov called rumors messages about he can take the place of assistant to the President Yuri Ushakov, who, according to “Kommersant”, is retiring. “Pure rumors,” Peskov said.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov commented on the publication “Kommersant” about the reshuffle in the Kremlin, the Russian presidential aide for international Affairs Yuri Ushakov will leave the administration of the President until March of the following year in connection with achievement 70-summer age, and his place will be Sam Sands.

“You know that Ushakov works as an assistant for international Affairs, and I work as a Deputy chief of staff and press Secretary to the President. We love it. We, of course, all the officials, we are appointed by the President and will be dismissed by the President, but we are all working in their places”, — said Peskov (quoted by “Interfax”).

He urged “not to look for a black cat in a dark room”. “Rumors, rumors, rumors net. We can not comment”, — said the press Secretary of the President.

According to “Kommersant”, as a candidate to the position of Ushakov is seen not only Sands, but the Russian Ambassador in China Andrei Denisov and other senior officials of the foreign Ministry. Himself Ushakov, said the sources, can pursue a career as an Ambassador in one of the European countries.

Senior newspaper sources in the government clarified that claims to work Ushakova and there was not neither the Kremlin nor the Cabinet, nor in the diplomatic service. “He loves his job and used to do well,” he assured the interlocutors of the newspaper.
