The Ministry of justice received the appeal of the defender Yaroshenko extradition of pilot of Russia – a Look

September 29 the Ministry of justice of Russia reported that Moscow has not sent US a second appeal with the appeal to give convicted pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, as the request from his representatives to the Ministry of justice were reported.

September 27, it became known that the lawyer of Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko signed at the request of us authorities, a document formally confirming its consent to transfer from the USA to Russia, as envisaged by the Strasbourg Convention.

In August of this year the lawyer reported that the use of the Strasbourg Convention on the transfer of sentenced persons is currently the last real opportunity for the return of Yaroshenko home before the expiration of his term of imprisonment in the United States. As noted then, the lawyer, Yaroshenko refused to appeal his sentence to the U.S. Supreme court, “therefore, in legal terms there are no procedural mechanisms that would cancel the verdict, in addition to return under the Convention”. The Russians considered the appeal in the US Supreme court inappropriate. The period during which this step was possible, expired on July 20, this year.

In April 2011, the jury found Yaroshenko guilty to conspiring to transport large quantities of drugs. In the end, the Russian was sentenced to 20 years in prison. In this case Yaroshenko is experiencing health problems. So, in January he underwent surgery, but without training, without giving the necessary medicines. Yaroshenko repeatedly stated that the U.S. government diskriminerad his rights.
