Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on approval of the doctrine of information security of Russia. The document came into force

President Vladimir Putin approved the doctrine of information security of Russia. The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“In order to ensure information security of the Russian Federation decide to approve the information security Doctrine of the Russian Federation”, — stated in the text of the document.

the Decree comes into force from the day of its signing. Previous information security doctrine, adopted in September 2000, is revoked.

As the document says, the extension of application areas of information technologies, “as a factor of economic development and to improve the functioning of public and state institutions, at the same time generates new information threats”. In particular, it is stated in the document, the cross-border flow of information “are increasingly being used to achieve geopolitical, contrary to international law military-political, terrorist, extremist, criminal and other unlawful purposes to the detriment of international security.”

One of the main negative factors influencing the state of information security, called “the increasing number of foreign countries opportunities for the information technology impact on information infrastructure for military purposes”. In addition, the strengthening of organizations that carry out “technical intelligence against the Russian state bodies, scientific organizations and enterprises of the military-industrial complex”.

the Strategic goal of information security in the field of strategic stability and equitable strategic partnership, “is the creation of a sustainable peaceful system of interstate relations in the information partnership,” reads the document.
