As explained in the defense Ministry, military aircraft did not have time to stop because of the “open wire arrestor”.

Earlier that su-33 with “Admiral Kuznetsov” was wrecked, was reported by aviation blog the Aviationist. As claimed by military sources of the portal, the accident occurred during the second attempt of landing. the su-33 was the second aircraft in the composition of the air group “Admiral Kuznetsov”, which crashed since the beginning of the participation of the cruiser in a military operation in Syria.
