In Kaliningrad, January 13 occurred one of the largest in the history of the city, according to local MOE, technological accidents – Removable German collapsed bridge. Were buried under the rubble of four construction workers, two others were injured.

Collapsed building – Berlin, or as it was called in Konigsberg, Palmburgsky bridge – built by Germans in 1938. In January 1945, it blew up, causing the left and divorced support spans. Construction slowly fell into disrepair, it actively went on cars, while in 2014 he was not built in parallel new. According to plans, the next was supposed to be another bridge – it was decided to build on supports Palmburgskogo. The authorities have said that they are very durable and reliable. But they eventually let down.

On the morning of January 13 workers who warmed themselves in the tea house on

the other side of the river Pregel, heard a terrible roar and rattle of metal. Jumped out and were amazed: for their eyes flew down the 700-ton piece of concrete. According to the press service of the regional Department of the Interior, heavy machinery and six builders were parsed directly on the bridge. At some point, one of the plates of the bridge broke, and four workers fell down from a height of about 15 meters. Machinery and change house also collapsed down. Two workers at the time of the collapse had to jump aside. It saved them. Installers 21 and 27 years old, who came to the region of Ivanovo region, were injured and were taken to hospital, one of them was discharged on the same day. But others were buried under pieces of concrete, reinforcement and construction equipment.

As a result of the collapse of the workers died from Ivanovo, Tula and Saratov regions. All experienced builders working on watch by January 17 and had to leave in their cities. 50-year-old Excavator – Kaliningrad residents – at home waiting for his wife and children.

Regional Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under article “Violation of safety rules during construction and other works, which caused the death of two or more persons.” Do investigators have every reason to believe that the deaths of four people led by the fact that the workers and heavy equipment for dismantling the bridge is directly on it.
