Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe upheld in the coming months all the sanctions against the Russian delegation introduced for Moscow’s role in the Ukrainian crisis.

The session on Wednesday evening PACE did not returned to the Russian delegation the right to vote, as proposed in the original draft resolution.

Again, Russia’s implementation of its commitments with respect to the peaceful settlement of the conflict Ukrainian – and, therefore, the question of the restoration of the powers of its delegation to the PACE – will be reviewed in April.

The amendment, according to which Russia is still not returned the right to vote, PACE Committee on the Monitoring of the Member States of their obligations CE approved Wednesday afternoon.

In the original draft resolution proposed to the next consideration in June to return the Russian delegation the right to vote at meetings of the PACE, but do not return the rest rights taken away in the last April in connection with the annexation of the Crimea.

Russia threatens to withdraw from the Council of Europe if the PACE sanctions are lifted.

“Russia leaves PACE” – wrote in the “Twitter” a member of the Russian delegation, State Duma deputy, Robert Schlegel. What exactly does he mean, Schlegel has not yet clarified. The Russian delegation refused to participate in the PACE almost all of last year, the deprivation of its powers.
