And so it happened! Amnesty devoted to the seventieth of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, entered into force! This bill, which talked so much, and that has caused untold battles in the State Duma finally came into force.
On the official website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation issued an amnesty law for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. As can be seen from the publication of it came into force on April 24, 2015 г.
After a long debate parliament finally approved the bill. What’s interesting is the last rejection of the amendment to the law on amnesty was a proposal Dmitry Gudkov (MP from the party “Fair Russia”). In particular, Gudkov offered to release those who have received a sentence for involvement in the riots (Article 212 of the Criminal Code). However, a majority vote of the State Duma, the initiative was rejected.
Thus, about 400,000 people across the country that fall under the relevant sections of the law in the near future will be released. Among the most common items for which the prisoner can apply for getting under the amnesty were: the person who first prosecuted for premeditated crimes small and moderate; persons who have state awards of Russia and the Soviet era; persons who participated in the fighting to defend the Fatherland, to perform military duty in Afghanistan and other countries; persons who took part in the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident; persons not of full age, a woman who have young children and many others.
