State Duma adopted today a resolution to hold a Russian amnesty dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, came into force. The document was published on the official web portal of legal information.
According to RBC, according to preliminary estimates, the amnesty can relate to 350-400 thousand people. In particular, the release should be those of the first time condemned to imprisonment for premeditated crimes small and moderate who was awarded the state awards of the USSR and Russia, took part in the fighting to defend the Fatherland, to perform military duty in Afghanistan and other countries, participated in the the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, as well as minors, women with minor children, men older than 55 years, women over 50 years, and so on.
During yesterday’s meeting of the State Duma MPs rejected the proposed deputy from the “Fair Russia “Dmitry Gudkov amendment, according to which the amnesty would apply to defendants in cases brought under Art. 212 of the Criminal Code (participation in mass disorders).
