Armed Forces upheld the life sentence of ex-mayor of Makhachkala Amirov – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, March 10 – RIA Novosti. The Russian Supreme Court has upheld the life sentence of ex-mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov, convicted of terrorism, RIA Novosti reported the press service of the court.

So the panel of judges rejected the appeal by his lawyers, who asked to cancel the sentence. Now he is considered to have entered into force.

nephew of ex-mayor of Makhachkala Yusup Djaparov court reduced the sentence to two months, from 18 years to 17 years and 10 months.

In August last year the North Caucasus District a military court sentenced the former mayor of Makhachkala to life imprisonment. Nephew Amirov, Yusup Dzhaparov, received 18 years in a penal colony. Magomed Akhmedov was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Two other brothers Ahmadov court appointed by ten years’ imprisonment, Murad Aliyev – 12 years colony, Magomed Kadieva – 13 years in the special regime colony, Zubair Mutayeva – 11 years of imprisonment in a colony of special regime.

The court found them guilty of the murder of the acting head of the investigation department of the UK for Soviet district of Makhachkala Arsen Hajibeyov and in the organization and execution of the terrorist attack in the shopping center “Moscow” in Kaspiysk. The defendants did not plead guilty.

Earlier, the court sentenced Amirov and Dzhaparov to 10 and 8.5 years in prison, respectively, for the preparation of the assassination attempt on the head of the Pension Fund of separation of Dagestan and the famous Russian wrestler Sagid Murtazalieva, the aircraft which should have been bring down the portable anti-aircraft missile complex.
