The State Duma adopted a law that prohibits the use for propaganda image of others without their consent, it follows from the information on the website of the lower house of Parliament.
The amendments to the electoral law have suggested the LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and deputy Igor Lebedev and Yaroslav Nilov.
According to the law on elections to use the image of individuals without their consent is possible only in cases when it comes to candidates. The ban also does not apply to cases where a candidate uses his image “among unspecified persons»
. The explanatory note also states that the use of statements of various persons on the candidate or the party may, subject to their consent. However, in the draft expressly provided for a ban on the use of campaign materials of statements of individuals that federal law prohibited from canvassing or campaigning on the referendum questions.
As previously emphasized Lebedev, if the law is adopted, “no candidate in the elections will not be able to hide behind a beautiful picture with the president, governor or other famous person. ”
