President Russia Vladimir Putin announced the first winner of the award for his contribution to strengthening unity of the Russian nation this year. He became head of the state Council Dagestan Magomedali Magomedov.

“having Considered the proposal of the presidential Council Russia for interethnic relations, I hereby decree: to award a prize of the President of the Russian Federation for the contribution to strengthening of unity of the Russian nation in 2016 and to assign honorary title of laureate of the presidential award for the contribution to strengthening of unity of the Russian nation Magomedov Magomedali Magomedovich, honorary Chairman of the state Council of the Republic of Dagestan”, — the press-service of the Kremlin, the corresponding decree of the head of state.

Recall that the prize for the strengthening of the Russian nation was created by the President in April 2016. It will be awarded every year “for the fruitful activities aimed at strengthening nationwide civic consciousness and spiritual community of the multinational people of the Russian Federation”. The prize is 2.5 million rubles.
