Reuters: Russia withdrew from Syria a little less than half of the combat aircraft – Rosbalt.RU

Russia withdrew from Syria about half of its aircraft in less than two days that have passed since the announcement of the withdrawal of the main group, informs Reuters.

 

 Agency using satellite images, frames airstrikes Russian VKS and statements the Russian Defense Ministry, found that on the basis of Hmeymim in Latakia province were 36 combat aircraft.

 

 Syria has left at least 15 of them: the bombers Su-24 and Su-34, Su-30 and Su-25. That is the conclusion the agency has come on the basis of analysis of the stories shown on state television.

 

 On the Russian base in Syria are at least 14 helicopters and about the same number of drones. If they, too, would withdraw from Syria, it will happen either by sea or by air, the report said.

 

 To find out whether there were intended to replace output from Syrian aircraft other, it is impossible, the agency added.

 

 The first group of Russian military aircraft took off from an airbase Hmeymim in places of permanent deployment on the territory of the Russian Federation yesterday. Today there was a crash of the next group videoconferencing Russian aircraft.

 Earlier, President Vladimir Putin has ordered the withdrawal of the main forces of the Russian Federation in Syria from 15 March. Russian items in Tartus and based Hmeymim should continue to work as usual.
