Putin associates the worsening situation in the Donbass with Kiev is interested in money from the EU and the USA – Interfax Russia

2 Feb. Interfax-Russia.ru – Vladimir Putin accused Kiev in the aggravation of the situation in the South-East of Ukraine and called one of the reasons that the desire of Ukrainian leaders to obtain additional financial help from outside.

“as for the current exacerbation, that we recorded that it began, and our position is known, provoked the Ukrainian side”, – said Vladimir Putin at a press conference after talks with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban in Budapest.

According to the Russian President, is due to several reasons.

“the First reason, in my opinion, is that the Ukrainian leadership today requires money, and money it is best to blow from the EU and individual European countries, from the USA and international financial institutions, presenting themselves as victims of aggression,” – said Vladimir Putin.

the Russian President also believes that one of the reasons for the escalation of the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine is the desire of the Kiev authorities “to silence opposition” and to unite the population of the current leadership of the country.

“amid the obvious failures in economic and social policy has intensified the opposition (in Ukraine – if), it should be plug and mobilize around the current leadership population,” Putin said.

According to the Russian leader, the current Ukrainian authorities want to abandon the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

“I think that the current Ukrainian government is not ready to implement the Minsk agreements and is looking for a reason to refuse its execution”, – Putin said.

It also doesn’t exclude that the Ukrainian authorities, exacerbating the conflict in the Donbass, trying to establish relations with the new US administration.

“As we know, during the election campaign in the United States the current Ukrainian government took a unilateral stance in support of one of the candidates and some of the oligarchs with the approval, certainly, political leadership, funded that candidate, or candidates, to put it more precisely,” – said Vladimir Putin.

“Now they need to establish relations with the current administration and also through the conflict – it is always better, always more comfortable, easier to tighten the new administration in the solution of Ukrainian problems and to establish thus a dialogue”, – said the Russian President.
