Head of the Perm region Basargin announced the resignation – RIA Novosti

UFA, 6 Feb – RIA Novosti. head of the Perm region Viktor Basargin has taken the decision not to go to the new Governor’s term, and appealed to the President to remove him from office, told RIA Novosti in the press service.

“I’ve always been of the public interests were above personal ambitions. Despite the fact that term of my powers expires much later, in may 2017, I have already appealed to Russian President with a request to assign me a new job, without waiting for a formal expiry date of the Governor’s office,” reported the spokesman’s words Basargin.

the Governor stressed that it was important to maintain economic stability in the region and to achieve this political stability. He also thanked residents of the province for their support and promised that he would continue to help the region in any capacity.

“I Thank all residents of the region, representatives of authorities, municipalities, and managers of our businesses, for collaboration, for the support and patience that they have shown”, — said Basargin.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on a question whether the President the resignation of the head of the Perm region, said he will provide information when the President will make the decision.

Basargin was appointed head of the Perm region in the spring of 2012. Before 2008 he held the post of Minister of regional development, and in 2001-2008 he was Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President in the Urals Federal district.

Previously, the newspaper “Vedomosti”, citing sources close to the Kremlin, said that in the next few days are expected resignation of five governors.
