MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed the former Governor of Perm Krai Victor Basargin, head of the Federal Agency for supervision in the sphere of transport. The head of government informed during the meeting with Basargin.
“given the fact that you have some serious experience at the Federal level – Minister of regional development, and, of course, know the regional specificity, I have decided to appoint you to the post of head rostransnadzora” – said the Prime Minister.
Medvedev stressed that it is a very serious work, which covers all modes of transport, including from the point of view of safety of transportation of passengers, transportation of goods, which, for one reason or another, can harm the environment, etc. “Know that You have come into contact with these issues and continue their work. I hope that I will cope with this new challenge at the Federal level”, – concluded the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
Basargin thanked Medvedev for the trust and support. He named the new area of work is very responsible, stressing that the need in this field, including to develop business while respecting the safety of passengers, etc. “I will try to justify that trust”, – said Basargin Medvedev.
Management of Rostransnadzor
In October 2015, former head of the Federal Agency for transport supervision Yevgeny Dietrich was appointed first Deputy Minister of transport of the Russian Federation. Since the position of the head of Department was vacant; the duties of the head were performed by the Deputy head rostransnadzora Sergey Zaritskiy.

February 6 this year Basargin has informed on the intention ahead of schedule to resign the Governor of the Perm region (term expired 5 may 2017), and not to run for another term. Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation and Basargin was appointed acting Governor of head of Department of economic policy and development of Moscow Maxim Reshetnikov.

Viktor Basargin was born on 3 August 1957 in the city of Asbest in Sverdlovsk region. In 1976 he graduated from the mining College of Asbestovskiy in 1984 – Sverdlovsk mining Institute named after Vakhrusheva (now Ural state mining University), in 1991, Ural socio-political Institute (now – Ural Institute of management, branch of Russian presidential Academy of national economy and public administration under the President of the Russian Federation).
In 2000 Basargin has got the qualification certificate of I category on the right of professional activity on the securities market. Is a candidate of economic Sciences.
C 1976 Basargin worked in various positions in the plant “Uralasbest”, in 1987 became Secretary of the Sverdlovsk regional Committee of Komsomol.
Since 1992 worked in the property Fund in Sverdlovsk region, in 2000-2001 – head of Department of the office of Plenipotentiary of RF President in the Urals Federal district, in 2001 – 2008 he served as the Deputy Ambassador.
From 2008 to 2012 Basargin was the head of the Ministry of regional development of the Russian Federation
