Putin ratified the agreement on the construction of “Turkish stream,”

the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of agreement with Turkey on gas pipeline project “Turkish stream.” The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on construction of two branches of the gas pipeline “Turkish stream” on October 10. The document was signed by energy Ministers in the presence of presidents of both countries.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed the law on ratification of the agreement with Russia on the construction of the gas pipeline “Turkish stream” in the beginning of December 2016.

the Russian State Duma ratified the agreement on 20 January, and the Federation Council — on 1 February. Vice-speaker of the Federation Council Ilya Usmanov called the agreement “an important political signal,” and the Deputy Minister of energy of Russia Yuri Senturin told that the document envisages the creation of a regulatory framework for the design and construction of the pipeline, including specifying the parameters of the customs and tax regimes.

the gas Pipeline “Turkish stream” will consist of two lines. One will be gas to Turkey itself, and the other will pass through the territory of the Republic in Europe. The capacity of each will amount to 15 billion 750 million cubic meters of gas.
