The State Duma adopted in the third and final reading the law on the possibility of a foreign assignment and international non-governmental organizations the status of “undesirable in Russia”, their activities will be prohibited under the threat of civil and criminal liability, and the assets frozen. According to the amendments, the decision to recognize unwanted activity in Russian foreign or international non-governmental organizations are the public prosecutor or his deputies in coordination with the Foreign Ministry. Revocation of such solutions is carried out in a similar manner.

A list of “undesirable” foreign or international non-governmental organizations will conduct and publish Russian Ministry of Justice.

Also, the law provides penalties for participation in such organizations for citizens – 5 th. to 15 th. rub., for officials – from 20 th. to 50 th. rub., for legal entities – from 50 thousand. up to 100 thousand. rub.
