Russian officials will be encouraged to report corruption – BBC News

The Russian government is considering a bill under which officials and civil servants will be encouraged to report corruption and other illegal activities within government agencies, and any other institutions and organizations, both public and private. At the same time they are guaranteed free legal aid, privacy, protection from unlawful dismissal (which is valid for three years) and preservation of jobs, said RIA Novosti.

The bill also provides for financial compensation for the truthful message in size from 5 to 15 percent of the amount of damage avoided. Monitor compliance with all rules to be Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.

The bill was designed based on the proposals of the Public Chamber under the National Anti-Corruption Plan for 2014-2015.
