The head of Russia Vladimir Putin has approved the initiative of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Presidential Administration (PA) to amend the legislation on the election observation, found out the newspaper “Kommersant”. The proposals are aimed at “streamlining operation with the observers».

In addition, according to the publication, the notice of election commissions on a roll composed of representatives of one or another political force after the adoption of innovations need to agree in advance, three days before the vote. The developers believe that in such a case, the observers will not be able to drive to the site, finding that the party representatives too.

At present, the law on elections to the Duma has established a judicial procedure for the removal of observers. However, in practice this innovation has not yet been applied. Now, however, this rule will act not only to the Duma elections, but also in other cases.

The changes also propose to allow observers to take photos and video. Now it is right to have the media. The CEC said that earlier observers often complained about the ban to shoot. However, after the adoption of the proposals, actions that violate the integrity of the personal data of voters and the secrecy of voting, remain forbidden.

According to the newspaper, Putin signed a proposal on January 20. It is recommended based on them to prepare amendments to the Law “On guarantees of electoral rights …” and “On elections of deputies of the State Duma.” This should be done before the start of election campaign to the State Duma, which will be held this fall.
