European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that his visit to Russia at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), scheduled in mid-June, does not mean that in the near future will be lifted sanctions imposed on the EU against the Russian Federation. This Juncker said Tuesday during a visit to Paris, reports France 24 with reference to AFP.
“My visit to St. Petersburg, which is more economic than political in nature, does not become an occasion for the European Union to announce any changes in our relationship with Russia,” – Juncker said, adding that he will not change the “overall evaluation of EU actions (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. ”
Juncker also supported the position G7 , which was reported last week at a summit in Japan, about the fact that the lifting of sanctions against Russia depends on the implementation of the Minsk agreements. As the head of the European Commission, he has repeatedly said Vladimir Putin that “sanctions will remain in force until they are satisfied Minsk agreement.”

Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from 16 to 18 June.
