Arrested a senior investigator for particularly important cases of GSU SKR Alexander Sorokin. According to investigators, he received a $ 50 thousand bribe from a lawyer.

Senior investigator for particularly important cases of GSU of Investigatory Committee of Russia (TFR), Lieutenant Colonel of justice Alexander Sorokin detained and arrested, said the official representative of SKR Svetlana Petrenko on Tuesday evening, December 6.

According to the investigation, Sorokin received from the lawyer a bribe in the form of money in the amount of $ 50 thousand for the performance of certain procedural actions on criminal case pending in his production, the statement Petrenko, which is published on the website of the TFR. Against Sorokin criminal case on the fact of receiving a bribe in especially large amount (part 6, item 290 of the criminal code, the maximum punishment is deprivation of liberty for a term up to 15 years with a fine in the amount of 70-the multiple sum of a bribe and with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions). Sorokin’s arrest for two months are sanctioned by the Basmanny court of Moscow, said TASS referring to the press-Secretary of the court Juno Tsarev.
