MOSCOW, December 6 — RIA Novosti. Against the senior investigator for particularly important cases of GSU SK of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Sorokin criminal case about bribe reception in especially large size, said acting head of the Department for interaction with mass media of the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.

According to the investigation, Sorokin received from the lawyer 50 thousand dollars for the implementation of “a series of procedural actions in the criminal case pending in his production.”

According to Petrenko, the investigation of this criminal case is entrusted to the first investigatory management of GSU SK of Russia.

She added that the Investigative Committee is always quick and hard to respond to every violation of the law, including corruption in their ranks, regardless of rank, position and past achievements.

“the leadership of the TFR never had any doubts, to initiate or not to initiate a criminal case against the employees if there were grounds,” she said.

As noted Petrenko, constant work on prevention and detection of corruption, and above all “in their own ranks” is one of the main components of the IC.

This is not the first for the year detention of a senior officer of the Investigative Committee. So, in July, was arrested the head of management of own safety of the Ministry Mikhail Maksimenko, his Deputy Alexander Limonov and first Deputy chief of a capital Central Board Denis Nikandrov, who are suspected in receiving a bribe in especially large size from criminal authority Shakro Young.
